General description

This is the most inaccessible piece of water we have but equally well it could be the most rewarding. You need to find a parking spot on the Lullington to Shawford road then start walking, and walk and then walk some more. We recommend a reconnaissance via What3words before heading out and then please strictly follow the path as per the map below.

It’s club owned water downstream of The Lane and there’s miles and miles of it and it barely gets any angler pressure. It’s got all of the River Frome species you’d expect and there’s lots of variety, there’s 3 weirs which means there’s alternate deeper water and faster areas which look mouth watering for some summer stick float fishing. Our intrepid President Roger Lee usually makes a few winter visits with his trotting rod, if you see somebody in one swim “heron” like catching fish after fish that’s him. The pictures of the nets overflowing with silver fish are his.

The winter chub fishing is prolific although the average size does not match up to the Factory and The Lane. That said if you’re getting 2-3 lb fish one after the other that’s quality fishing in anybody’s book.

The predator fishing certainly needs exploring.
