Higher Farm Coarse Fishery
Higher Farm Coarse Fishery
This venue consists of 3 well-stocked lakes nestling in the Somerset countryside near to Shepton Montague. It’s an easy 14-mile drive from Frome.
Members need to book via Clubmate and show confirmation of your booking via the Clubmate Fishing app, we pay 20% of the standard day ticket price. If you’ve not pre-booked then the bailiff will charge you the full rate.
As of April 1st 2024 the standard adult day tickets are £10 but Frome members pay just £2.
There are reductions for juniors too and a reduced rate evening ticket.
The lakes are stocked with common, mirror and ghost carp to double figures. There are also rudd, roach, bream and tench. There are 30 fishing platforms across the 3 waters.
Unsurprisingly with the substantial head of fish in the lakes there’s an opportunity to catch perch approaching 4lbs.
Lower Lake.
This is the most intimate of the ponds with car parking next to the water, it’s a good option for anybody with limited mobility as it’s very easy to access and has a disabled platform.
There’s some good carp to target and you’ll find there’s plenty of silver fish too with roach, rudd, perch, bream, golden orf, plus both green and golden tench.
You should get plenty of bites.
Higher Lakes.
These two top lakes are well off the road down a track so you’ll find them very peaceful.
If you like to catch carp then these are the lakes for you as they contain a good stock of Commons, Mirrors plus some Grass Carp to 20lbs. There are also Green and Gold Tench to 6lbs, Rudd, Roach and Perch to 4lbs.
